Food Technologist – Beverages – Your future position?

Application Technologists are specialists whose primary goal is to guide Flavourists in the flavour development process. To do so, Application Technologists analyze current flavour trends, forecast future trends and assess consumer preferences.

As a Food Technologist – Beverages, based in Pakistan you will be a key player in our regional flavour application team, reporting directly to the Commercial Director, Pakistan. You will mainly be responsible for evaluating flavours in food applications and selecting the optimal flavours for customer projects.

• Providing technical support to customers (directly) or through project briefs, including the recommendation of flavours and technical information on application issues.
• Prepare, organize, and/or execute state-of-the-art flavoured food products for customer presentations
• Recommend optimal flavours for customer projects according to all relevant requirements (taste profile, legislation, technical suitability, costs, etc) and maintain the flavour collections
• Develop new application recipes as well as new concepts for customers, based on new developments in the market, trends, new raw materials
• Work strictly according to the company requirements for optimal safety, hygiene and protection of the environment
• Act as independent project leader for all allocated projects
• Report results in concise way in support of WinRate and sales.
• Arrange and conduct tasting sessions, process and interpret the results to customers and internally
• Leverage on new technologies for submissions to customers and also identify new opportunities.
• Take responsibility for technical customer communication to achieve a positive outcome of projects
• Provide support and exchange information on flavour performance, food recipes with other Givaudan sites
• Maintain the product portfolio and support the local librarian sensory evaluations
• Ensure projects are carried out in accordance with customer requirements in terms of deadlines and product specifications

Your professional profile includes

Primary Qualifications

• Degree in Food Technology or equivalent with a specialisation in the required food segment
• Min. 3 years’ experience as application technologist in the flavour industry, or in R&D department / food product development in relevant industry with ideally a good background in manufacturing processes in the related industry
• Genuine curiosity about food technology, culinary trends and innovation
• Passionate about flavors, food and tasting; Well-developed tasting skills
• Aware of industrial constraints
• Able to work with standard food processing equipment
• Experience with the use of flavourings - performance, benefits
• Striving to always achieve more, and exceed customers and managers expectations
• Ability to take project lead, put teams together to work with successfully, monitoring, executing and finalizing the project
• Creativity, Out-of-the-Box thinking with well-developed business acumen
• Proficient in English (spoken and written)
• Well-developed communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in using common PC applications
• Ability to travel within Pakistan and overseas
